Bad news piling on Kansas

Sucks to be a Kansas fan right now.

As the Jayhawks scramble to avoid being left out in the conference realignment cold, Bill Self’s squad got a small dose of bad news Tuesday: Prize recruit Josh Selby broke his hand.

Two small bits of good news, though. Selby, a righty, broke his left hand. And he’s only expected to miss up to six weeks, meaning he won’t miss any practice time.

Then again, Selby’s injury wasn’t even the most disheartening bit news Tuesday from Lawrence. Athletic director Lew Perkins had to miss part of last week’s Big 12 meetings because he was testifying before a federal grand jury regarding the school’s ticket scandal.

Seriously? Can it get any worse? Oh. Right. Guess it can.
