Will the third time be the charm for Oakland?
The Golden Grizzlies came up just short against Michigan State and Illinois during the last week (though the Illini game became notable for different reasons). Yet Tuesday’s trip to Knoxville against unbeaten Tennessee looms as the biggest test of all. Oakland has an NBA-ready center in Keith Benson and an otherworldly efficient scorer in Will Hudson (helps to sport an eFG% of 66.2), but the Vols have that nasty defense to pair with some solid shooters.
Call it the ultimate test for a RLU.
Better bets for RLUs: Wisconsin-Milwaukee has a coin-flip game against DePaul, while Denver U travels to Laramie to face one of D-I’s worst teams, Wyoming. If there’s gonna be a RLU, I’m going with the Cowboys. They’ve already had four RLUs. My buddy Aaron thinks they have the worst football and men’s hoops programs in D-I. No argument here.
