Thomas Robinson, Josh Selby to start for Kansas tonight

Last week, Kansas Jayhawk forward Marcus Morris was tossed from a game at Cal for throwing a series of elbows in the direction of Harper Kamp.

As you probably could have guessed, Bill Self was none too pleased about it.

“Marcus has to be smarter than that,” coach Bill Self said Tuesday. “That was a very, very immature play that he made. He’s cost himself a starting position. He’ll play. But he certainly has to be more mature than that because he’s too valuable.”

“He had it right where he wanted and let it get away from him. We’re going to start Thomas and Markieff (Morris) inside. We haven’t given Thomas a chance to start and to be honest with you, he’s played really well the last couple of games.”

Marcus, who is the Jayhawk’s leading scorer, won’t be the only starter that will begin tonight’s game on the bench.

Point guard Tyshawn Taylor has been stuck in his native New Jersey thanks to the two feet of now the Garden State got over the weekend. He was supposed to arrive in Lawrence at some point last night.

Josh Selby, who has averaged 19.5 ppg in wins over USC and Cal, will get the first start of his career, along with Elijah Johnson, Tyrel Reed, Markieff Morris, and Thomas Robinson.

The question you have to ask now is if Selby will ever be taken out of the starting lineup.
