Tuesday’s slate and what to watch

After an 8-game hiatus, the Bruce Pearl show recommences tonight in Lexington when his Volunteers take on SEC rival Kentucky. It might not be a happy show, though.

The Wildcats (16-6) have lost two straight, are miffed and get to play in front of 23,000 fans. Even worse, they’re favored. And Tennessee (15-8) hasn’t covered the spread eight of the last 10 games they’ve played in Lexington, according to Teamrankings.com.

Not exactly an easy first outing for Pearl. (9 p.m. on ESPN)

(All times ET)

Indiana at Purdue, 7 p.m. (ESPN): The Hoosier State showdown probably won’t be much of a game. The Boilermakers (18-5) have yet to lose at home this season and all but one of their 12 wins have been by double digits. The Hoosiers (12-12) will be missing leading scorer Christian Watford and can’t seem to play defense.

Xavier at Georgia, 7 p.m. (ESPNU): The Bulldogs (16-6) were slated to have a bye week, but decided to invite the Musketeers (16-6) to Athens instead. Guess that’s one way to add a potential loss to your record.

Penn at Princeton, 7 p.m.: The Ivy’s two traditional powerhouses may finally be coming out of their funks. The Tigers are 16-4 overall and are atop the conference at 4-0. The Quakers (9-9) struggled during their non-conference sked, but are 3-1 in the league. If the game was in Philly, they might even pull off the upset.
