Can Texas-San Antonio pull off the impossible?

No. 16 seeds have never won an NCAA tournament game. UNC Asheville’s loss to Pitt made them 0-105 since 1985.

So what chance does Texas-San Antonio have against No. 1 overall seed Ohio State. According to Justice Hill, none.

Devin Gibson and the Roadrunners will need to be almost perfect to win. It’s more daunting than beating Usain Bolt in a footrace. Maybe more so. From Hill’s column:

“It’s going to be hard,” said Melvin Johnson III, a sophomore guard. “We’re gonna have to work hard and compete, and we can’t go out there scared. We have to play to the best of our abilities.”

Yet that’s the damnable part of it. For even if the Roadrunners play to the “best of their abilities,” will it be good enough to upset the Buckeyes?

The upside? A win would be the greatest win in the history of the NCAA tournament. That’s not hyperbole, just fact.
