Texas A&M loses a prize 2013 recruit

One of Billy Kennedy’s first recruiting prizes at Texas A&M no longer fits the bill. Or maybe he just doesn’t want to play in the SEC.

Kendrick Nunn, a 6-2 guard from Chicago in the class of 2013, announced on Twitter that he had a change of heart and wants to see what other programs might be interested in his skills.

“As of today, I will be opening my recruiting process,” Nunn tweeted. “I feel I rushed my decision, and I still have 2 years left to make the right 1.”

A&M will still be in the mix – he says he still likes the school and Kennedy’s staff – but this is simply a case of Nunn wanting to visit other places. At least eight other schools, including Arizona, Memphis and local spots like Illinois and DePaul, had extended him offers.

Where he’ll eventually land, Nunn doesn’t know.

“I don’t have any idea,” he told Heard This Blog. “I don’t know who is still interested in me. They [college coaches] just heard about it, so they haven’t talked to my coaches yet.”
