Gregg Marshall will be staying at Wichita State.
Coming off of a 27-6 season and a Missouri Valley regular season title, the Shockers head coach has once again become a hot product on the Coaching Carousel. Wichita State has gone 98-41 over the last four years and 56-14 over the last two, both of with are the best-ever for the Shocker program. Last season, the Shockers won the NIT.
“Wichita State is a special place, with great resources, from facilities to academics to people,” Marshall said in a statement. “My family and I feel this is a great place for us. I appreciate my staff and players who have achieved at a high level, and look forward to continued success.”

It does appear that Marshall will get a raise, however. The press release says that Marshall has agreed, in principle, to changes in his current contract.
Marshall isn’t the first mid-major star to turn down overtures from high-major programs this month. Shaka Smart and Brad Stevens have both rejected offers from Illinois.
