Round one officiating has been talked about favoring Syracuse over UNC. I reviewed the game on my DVR, every call and non call in slow motion and freeze frame. In the first 12 minutes of the first half, the officials mistakes all went against Syracuse. Missed calls, phantom fouls, announcers who do not remember the NCAA rules are different than NBA, like the free throw lane violation. Anyway, after reviewing the entire game, the refs did not cost UNC the game.

"many were reluctant to play with a smidgen of physicality"

I disagree. Both teams were determined to play with much more than a smidgen of physicality. Their intent on playing their own styles and the refs intent on calling every hand check made for a bad game. (plus the refs were completely inconsistent ).

I thought the officiating was pretty bad, as it has been for many of the tournament games I have watched. Some of the fouls were phantom-I couldn't see them on replay. Others which appeared to be fouls were let go. 49 fouls is too many.

Yea, Syracuse only got this far because they got a few favorable calls in round one. That said the refs killed the game last night. We don't watch the game to watch the refs. I bet the sponsors are ticked at the refs. Let the players play.
