Robert Upshaw will not be following Frank Martin to South Carolina.

That much we know about the prized, Kansas State commit, a 6-foot-11 center from Fresno, CA, that ranks somewhere in the top 100 recruits nationally, depending on where you look.

Beyond that, Upshaw doesn’t really know what he is going to do.

“I’m a little concerned because I had three years to figure it out before,” he told the Fresno Bee, “and now I have to do the right amount of research and develop new relationships with coaches in a matter of days. That’s going to be a challenge.”

“It’s going to take some time to process. It’s a big deal where I’m going, so I’m not going to make a quick decision.”

The good news for Upshaw? He didn’t sign a letter of intent, he only signed a financial aid agreement. That means that he will not have to ask for a release from Kansas State, which could further muddy the waters of his decision-making process.

Upshaw said he is not sure whether or not he even wants to attend college elsewhere. Louisville, Georgetown and Fresno State were the other three schools on his final list.
