Bryce Pressley, son of former Villanova forward Harold, commits to Portland

Looks like another case of “like father, like son.”

Bryce Pressley, the son of former Villanova University and Sacramento Kings forward Harold Pressley, has committed to Portland, according to Joe Davidson of the Sacramento Bee.

The younger Pressley is a 6-3, 180-pound guard from Jesuit High School (Calif.), a team that went 27-7 this past season and was ranked 10th in the state of California.

He had one of his best games of the season in late February, when he went for 21 points and nine blocked shots in a win over rival Pleasant Grove.

The elder Pressley, Harold, played for Villanova for four seasons in the mid-1980s, including being part of the underdog team in 1984-85 that won the national title. That season, he averaged 12 points per game, going on to average nearly 17 in his senior season.

From there, he went on to play four seasons in the NBA, all with Sacramento, averaging 9 points and 4.5 rebounds per game.

Bryce Pressley becomes the second player signed from Portland’s 2012 class, joining Jake Ehlers, a power forward from Oregon.
