Baylor may have lost Perry Jones III to the NBA, but they will be getting back Quincy Miller.

On Tuesday evening, the 6-foot-8 small forward announced his intentions to return to school for his sophomore season. With all of Baylor’s back court returning to school -- headlined by Pierre Jackson and Brady Heslip with point guard LJ Rose joining the mix -- and Cory Jefferson returning to play alongside top ten recruit Isaiah Austin and, potentially, four-star freshman Rico Gathers, Baylor looks like a team that will once again compete atop the Big 12.

On a personal level, this is a smart move from Miller.

Miller tore his ACL during his senior year in high school and never looked like he regained the explosiveness and the athleticism that he had lost in the injury. Miller averaged 10.6 points and 4.9 rebounds this season, but disappeared for long stretches of big games.

With an entire offseason to get his knee back to full health, Miller could end up having a monster season as the focal point of the Baylor attack. Miller might have warranted a first round pick in this year’s draft, but with a big season as a sophomore he could end up moving up into the lottery, if not into the top five or top ten picks.
