The story quoted states:

“… Orsini brags that Samarrippas and (at least) three other teammates cut by Brown — Ricmonds Vilde, Leslee Smith and Eric Norman — can stay on scholarship. …”

Three other stories I read also stated the players can keep their scholarships.
