He’s said it before and Kentucky head coach John Calipari made it clear once again that he is not in favor of the current “one and done” rule.
In an interview with CBSSports’ Jon Rothstein, Calipari also had some suggestions as to how the powers that be can make the experience a more beneficial one for the student-athletes.
Personally the incentive of a higher rookie contract (not to mention a shorter “clock” before reaching free agency) is a good move, as is the idea of helping families when it comes to taking out disability insurance.
Will any of this happen anytime soon? That remains to be seen.
