Getty Images Over the weekend, a prostitution sting in Atlantic City netted 28 arrests.
And while this kind of news would normally be reserved for the local news, that changes when the best player on a top 25 basketball team is involved.
Khalif Wyatt, who averaged 17.1 points for Temple as a junior last season, was one of the 28 people arrested. He was charged with engaging in prostitution and resisting arrest, according to My Fox Philly. According to CSN Philly, he approached a female undercover cop and tried to run when he realized she wasn’t actually a prostitute.
The 6-foot-4 guard was Temple’s second-leading scorer behind Ramone Moore last season. He went for 22 points as the Owls knocked off Duke early last season and will be expected to play a major role as Temple tries to win the Atlantic 10 in their final season in the conference.
No word yet on what Wyatt’s punishment will be.
