It really should come as no surprise at this point, but Mark Few’s program out in Spokane won’t be fading into obscurity any time soon.

On Monday evening, Few landed Providence transfer Gerard Coleman. As a sophomore, Coleman averaged 13.2 points and 5.0 boards for the Friars, but he decided to leave the program in search on an opportunity to win more games.

He’ll find that with the ‘Zags. Coleman will have to sit out the 2012-2013 season, which means that he’ll never take the court with Elias Harris, but when he does become eligible in the 2013-2014 season, he’ll give the ‘Zags one of the best perimeter attacks in the country. Kevin Pangos, who led the team in scoring as a freshman this past season, is on the fast track to becoming Gonzaga’s next great point guard. He’s joined by classmate Gary Bell Jr., one of the most hyped recruits that Few has landed at Gonzaga, who is a bigger and more athletic scorer.

Coleman’s game will compliment them well. He’s a lanky and athletic slasher that can get to the rim and finish. Throw in senior big men Kelly Olynyk and Sam Dower, and the future is bright for Gonzaga.
