Unfortunately, when you’re dealing with egomaniacs, and I mean BOTH Knight AND the university’s administration, an “angle” is exactly what has to be worked. And it likely never will. The school’s administration will never simply say, okay, we made mistakes, so did you, let’s put this behind us, because you really did do a lot of good for the university and the community, and you do deserve to be honored. Conversely, the words, “I’m sorry”, will never be uttered by Knight.
