After a postponement to the original date, the trial of Temple guard Khalif Wyatt is set to begin August 6, according to Philly.com.

Wyatt was arrested in Atlantic City, N.J., on June 10 after allegedly engaging in prostitution and resisting arrest. He allegedly fled from a uniformed police officer after making an offer to pay for sex to an undercover female officer who was posing as a prostitute. He was apprehended shortly thereafter.

Wyatt issued a statement following the arrest.

“I apologize to my family, teammates, coaches and Temple University for the embarrassment that I have caused,” he said in the release. “I was in Atlantic City this past weekend celebrating my 21st birthday with friends and exercised very poor judgment by allowing myself and my friends to be put in a compromising situation. I intend to cooperate with the authorities during their investigation and the legal process.”

Temple will need Wyatt on the court this season, as they will be losing seniors Ramon Moore and Juan Fernandez to graduation, two players who together averaged over 28 points per game this past season.

Wyatt himself averaged 17.1 points and 3.3 assists per game in 2011-12 for a team that finished 24-8, including 13-3 in the Atlantic 10.
