kids don’t want to travel to the midwest where no one will see them play.

You do realize the Big Ten has a TV network that will broadcast all their games (or at least all that aren't on ESPN and CBS)? And for all your Midwest bashing, the Big Ten makes more money of its MBB programs than any other conference and (more importantly) has led the nation in basketball attendance for 36 years running, meaning there will be more people in the stands when they play.

And after all this, the Big Ten will be the second strongest MBB conference in the country (and the strongest if the ACC collapses).

Actually, this is a huge blow to Maryland basketball recruiting. The regions that were once fertile will go barren to them as these kids don't want to travel to the midwest where no one will see them play. They want to play on the east coast in the best conference that college basketball has ever seen.

Maryland will be at the top of the Big Ten each season with their basketball program. Turg and his staff are great recruiters and conference alignment doesn't matter. Turg can still beef up his schedule by scheduling old ACC rivalries.

As far as the football side, it will only make them better and Edsall can kick sand. He is a not a big enough name to coach in the Big Ten. Yes, Big Ten football domiantes ACC football, no debate. Maryland can't put butts in seats even with FSU and Miami playing at Byrd. Big Ten fans might teach Terps fans something about college football Saturday and can only make it better.

No need to get bitter or upset about Terps leaving, all the bitching and moaning wiill do nothing. But if you can kick PSU out of the Big Ten, it would make it that much of an easier transition.
