You were doing well until you included that redundant “irregardless,” which torpedoed your argument for correct word usage. Substituting “then” for “than” didn’t help, either.

informal regardless.
– origin C19: prob. a blend of irrespective and regardless.
usage: Irregardless means the same as regardless: the negative prefix ir- is unnecessary as it merely duplicates the suffix -less. The word is regarded as incorrect in standard English.

It’s a Palin-esque word, worthy of inclusion alongside refudiate.

Actually, you’re not liable to lose games…you’re likely to lose games. I guess grammar and correct word usage aren’t taught at the University of Writing for NBC Sports. Irregardless, it’s clear that the Tarheels are worse then usual.

Roy’s recruiting is terrible. I saw his prize recruit Kennedy Meeks play in DC, and he is soft. He is slow and afraid of contact. At 6’9 3 bills this guy was taking fadeaways from the top of the key. He was given one elbow down low and he never went to the blocks again. This guy might be okay at like the Citadel but Roy is giving schollys to charmin guys now, that willl hurt his program long term.

Roy definitely has mismanaged recruiting past 2 years. He and staff should have known last years team was going NBA route (Marshall not so much)
