PICTURE: The new Adidas uniforms are here

Feb 28, 2013, 10:29 AM EDT

With all the talk and all the hype surrounding the new Adidas jersey that are being launched, I wondered when we would finally get a glimpse of them.

Well, the answer is today. Here are the new uniforms that will be worn by six programs sponsored by Adidas beginning with conference tournament play:

Louisville, Baylor and UCLA will be getting sleeves on their jerseys. Notre Dame, Cincinnati and Kansas are simply donning the camo threads.

Thoughts? Do you guys like them? I’m torn, personally. I can’t decide whether those shorts looks like something Brad Paisley would design while he’s watching Duck Dynasty or if someone decided Jim McMahon would be a good designer for Adidas basketball gear.

      those things are scary.

      • quizguy66 - Feb 28, 2013 at 5:04 PM

You can still hear those uniforms through your radio.

  2. 12simi12 - Feb 28, 2013 at 11:15 AM

I think they look hideous. Uh-uh.

  3. keithmonson - Feb 28, 2013 at 11:25 AM

I’m sure they look cute running around the living room before their mommies take them to brush their teeth and tuck them into bed.

  4. brianbud - Feb 28, 2013 at 11:30 AM

FUGLY! This might be the best recruiting tool for Nike schools since MJ actually wore nikes.

  5. letsgotemple - Feb 28, 2013 at 11:30 AM

they look like the old school umbro shorts

  6. jpopejoy - Feb 28, 2013 at 11:32 AM

    Thank God Indiana declined this.

  7. pacific123ocean - Feb 28, 2013 at 11:58 AM

These are horrible….and, now we will see if Nike is up to the challenge of creating an even uglier uniform for Oregon.

    • 1historian - Mar 2, 2013 at 10:24 PM

      count on it

  8. vanmorrissey - Feb 28, 2013 at 12:06 PM

You guys are just dorks. These are great, what young kid would not want to wear them ala Oregon? Get over yourselves already, and grow up.

    • viceburgh - Feb 28, 2013 at 12:38 PM

I’ll admit that I would’ve wanted to wear those uniforms as a “young kid” – meaning, 8 or 9 years old. Not college age.

    • houstonoilers - Feb 28, 2013 at 12:54 PM

Sure my kids would love to wear them but I would tell them Holloween isn’t for 9 months.

  9. deiong - Feb 28, 2013 at 12:17 PM

is it april 1st?? this has to be a joke, they couldnt have picked a more ugly style. i think this is a joke. there isnt anyone with such horrible taste to want those… or much less someone with such bad taste that they woudl design something like this other then a cruel joke… right???

people arent that tasteless.. i dont believe this is anythng mreo then a joke. to soften people up, you know show something absolutely so horrid then say just kidding to soften the blow for a better, but still lackluster design.. right. thats what this is…. right?

i mean no fan will buy it so there goes the sales, dont think the ncaa as money hungry as it is will pick something that noone would ever buy.

  10. bennynotoes - Feb 28, 2013 at 12:22 PM

Adidas is not afraid to be unconventional nor are the colleges that will where these uniforms. Sounds like we haven’t heard from all the Nike trash talkers. We will see what college’s advance in March Madness and what uniforms get the most face time. In betting on Adidas!

  11. eagles512 - Feb 28, 2013 at 12:23 PM

Absolutely horrible. So sick of this crap.

  12. tjm384 - Feb 28, 2013 at 12:31 PM

    Adidas, your uniforms, Woof!

  13. jiminthebay - Feb 28, 2013 at 12:42 PM

    2 words : LARRY BIRD

  14. tifosi73 - Feb 28, 2013 at 12:45 PM

    Do I like them? Uh….NO.

  15. quizguy66 - Feb 28, 2013 at 12:53 PM

    Zubaz 2.0 lol

    • joebone - Feb 28, 2013 at 1:48 PM

Wait, what’s wrong with Zubaz?! I’m sure half the guys on this site are wearing them right now. Come on, man!

  17. lawrinson20 - Feb 28, 2013 at 12:59 PM

    A travesty.

Thanks, Adidas. All publicity is good publicity, right? Bastids.

  18. jlinatl - Feb 28, 2013 at 1:12 PM

    They look like swim trunks

  19. jprcox - Feb 28, 2013 at 1:40 PM

For all the uniform shockers – this has to be the worst without doubt. When Seahawks revealed their new uniforms I was unsure if I liked them, now I love them. THAT WILL NEVER HAPPEN with these uniforms. I hate them today, and I promise I will hate them tomorrow.

Adidas needs to hire Nike to design this stuff for them.

  20. jimfix - Feb 28, 2013 at 2:13 PM

those are the most awful uniforms i’ve ever seen. how embarrassing would it be if your school won a championship wearing those things? you’d have to look at them for decades. ouch.

  21. bsplaincs - Feb 28, 2013 at 2:54 PM

Look I get its a bad economy….. But really??? I’m more surprised know one has said ” In a related story Adidas has FIRED everyone that came up with this idea or approved it” that should be the next story. Also thanks for telling me all the teams that will not go all the way this yr. it helps with my bracket coming up. No way the TV gods have those uniforms go all the way on national tv. It’s about viewers!!!!!!

  22. imaduffer - Feb 28, 2013 at 2:54 PM

Apparently, there are no white college basketball players..

  23. phntomsoul - Feb 28, 2013 at 2:56 PM

Not sure how camo dregs associate in any way with basketball, other than an unabashed attempt by the NCAA to make a political statement about supporting our troops, but ok. I thought team sports uniforms were supposed to be high-contrasting vivid colors to easily identify at a glance who’s on your team and who isn’t…

  24. kinggw - Feb 28, 2013 at 4:01 PM

The flourescent uniforms they unveiled last year around this time were a bit much, but at least they were something new. This is just overkill. Adidas should leave the crazy unis to Nike and Under Armour, they suck at it.

  26. mogogo1 - Feb 28, 2013 at 4:44 PM

Glad to see the abandoned warehouse of Zubaz pants were put to good use.

  27. florida727 - Feb 28, 2013 at 4:50 PM

I had a uniform that looked just like those once. Then my dad got a job…

  28. oruacat2 - Feb 28, 2013 at 5:08 PM

Did Joey Buttafucco play the point or shooting guard?

  29. bradmoss1 - Feb 28, 2013 at 6:14 PM

Jackson Pollock is spinning in his grave.

  32. opshuns - Feb 28, 2013 at 8:58 PM

The uniform is not going to cause me to root against my team. They are different, which is good, because I am getting tired of the same old – some old….Its is the players’ opinions that are important…

    • 1historian - Mar 2, 2013 at 10:26 PM

Gotta go with a thumbs down with you. I’m a Notre Dame fan and these uniforms will have me rooting against them.

  33. manchestermiracle - Mar 1, 2013 at 11:14 AM

Definitive proof that money means everything, even if you have to look like you dressed yourself when you should have let mom do it…
