More “upended” than “upset”. But the important point here, I think, is that it just confirms how great a coach Coach K really is. He handled Kelly’s injury, along with their medical staff obviously, perfectly. Didn’t rush him back (especially in an era where the fan base pressure to win every time out has to be incredible). Maybe even sat him out an extra game pointing to the importance of this one. Kelly was obviously ready, 100% healthy, and will be a force the rest of the way and into tournament play. I’m not a Duke fan per se, but this was good to see. If anyone doubted Duke’s chances for a run at another national title, those doubts should have been erased last night. Give Miami credit too. They’re not going away anytime soon. Lose by 3 in one of the most difficult places in the country to play? On neutral courts, they’re going to be very hard to beat. This will do nothing but motivate them.

I am a hardcore Blue Devil fan. When first read the frist paragraph I had the same thought but I believe it was a slight upset. Miami is an excellent team. Lots of upper classmen, three 5th year seniors and a sixth year one also. They are going to be a very difficult out for somebody. With a healthy Ryan Kelly so will Duke.
That said, welcome back Ryan. Your performance today will go do as one of the greatest in NCAA history. Well deserved.
