It’s official: Creighton, Butler and Xavier to the Big East

As was reported yesterday, the Big East held a press conference today to officially announce their future.

The league will be adding Creighton, Butler and Xavier for the 2013-14 season. They have signed a 12-year rights deal with FOX Sports and their new channel, FOX Sports 1. And, perhaps more importantly, the Big East has officially agreed with Madison Square Garden that the World’s Most Famous Arena will host their conference tournament until 2025-2026.

And now that that’s done, it’s time to figure out just what to call the old Big East.

The “Catholic 7″ had won only 2 of the last 18 Big East titles. Have fun.

Really!!! So Georgetown, Villinova, Marquette, Xavier, Creighton, Butler…etc are not relevant in the basketball landscape!!! They make no noise come tournament time and any real team would schedule a home and home with them in a second, because they are cupcakes…

Wait whose left in the old big east….ooo UCONN, wait umm Boise St. umm

First person can name the old big east teams that are left behind wins..no cheating..

I don’t know why the Big East has been so hot to add Midwest Teams. Could they not get a Temple, St. Joe’s, Hartford or Hofstra? I feel bad for the women’s soccer team that has to travel from Providence to Omaha in the middle of the week …

Glad that Xavier is joining. We need more mutants in the Big East. Just be careful of that guy with the claws. He will ruin your budget for new basketballs.
