Report: Mike Rice used gay slurs directed at players while at Robert Morris

According to a report from the AP, Rice used gay slurs directed at player and threw basketballs at them during practice. And frankly, that isn’t all that much of a surprise. If he was doing those kind of things at Rutgers, it was a pretty safe bet he was doing them before he got to Rutgers as well.

So that’s not really a huge issue for me, because that’s not a new piece of information.

What’s more concerning is the second part of that report:

A former Rutgers staff member alleged Rice engaged in several “coaches versus players” brawls while coaching the Colonials from 2007-10.

Coaches versus players brawls?

Now that’s a problem, and I don’t think I really need to explain why.

We aren’t saying that Mike Rice’s actions are acceptable. But acting like somehow Rice is the only coach in America that’s doing this is flat-out laughable. He got fired, it’s over, move on.

Who cares if a few gays were offended? If you’re not gay and someone calls you a faggot because they’re pissed off in the moment, you get over it and move on.

The term “gay” or “homosexual” or “fag” is ALWAYS going to have a negative connotation associated with it regardless of how badly liberals want it to be different.

Hear that, gays? Get over it and move on.

As a heterosexual, I find your lack of compassion disturbing.

Undoubtedly no more disturbing than I find your empathy toward them.

I feel bad for you man. Your life must be tough if you’re holding onto such foolish hate. But I’m sure you have your truck, your dog, and maybe even a woman at home to beat!

The dude should be in jail for abuse. What a tough guy. He should of challenged the kids while they were on the streets if he had such an urge.

Rice certainly deserved to be fired for his actions at Rutgers, but that still doesn’t mean every crazy story thrown out there about him is true. Why would coaches engage in brawls with players? Or vice versa? And if that was going on regularly, what are the odds that it wouldn’t have come out? He couldn’t even rough up guys a little bit during practice without videotape immediately surfacing at Rutgers, yet he had brawls going on at Robert Morris and absolutely nobody reported it or taped any of it?

The first rule of Coaches vs. Players Fight Club is…

In another 10 years, gay-bashers will be looked upon as the same type of scum as racists and KKK members.

    Hopefully sooner.
