It appears as if Zach Price is transferring from Louisville

NCAA Final Four Michigan Louisville Basketball

Zach Price, a 6-foot-10 center that averaged 1.4 points and 1.3 boards for Louisville as a sophomore, appears to be transferring out of the program.

After Price posted, and promptly deleted, a couple of ominous tweets on Friday night, head coach Rick Pitino was asked about them on Tuesday at a press conference for his Maker’s Mark bottle.

His response?

“If he goes it’s not a big deal,” Pitino said. “You’re not going to hold onto everybody. If he does leave we wish him well and hope he has great success. I would say he’s gone because our players don’t tweet, so that’s a good indication. I spoke to him by text because he missed some summer classes, so that’s [another] indication.”

Price followed that up with the following tweets on Tuesday:

Looks like Louisville’s thin front court just got that much thinner.

Thinner? Yeah losing a bench warmer who averaged less than 1 minute a game is really going to hurt. You’re wearing your UK shirt at this very moment aren’t you Dauster?

Classy statements from the kid. Pitino statement shows he’s a bag.

I really don’t think that UL is going to even notice he is gone! UL is going to be a beast of a team again this year, can’t wait to watch the UK vs UL game this year!!

Price handled the situation fairly well, Pitino was his usual smug self, and the program probably won’t miss the player at all. It’s not as if he was a major cog in the machine.
