Goodluck Okonoboh could’ve sat in a spot reserved for the elite college and international players last month, but decided against it.

Turns out the Massachusetts prep star decided against hanging with his buddy Nerlens Noel at the NBA Draft. And his reasoning was justified.

“I didn’t really want to go to the green room, I’m waiting for my turn,” Okonoboh told the Louisville Courier-Journal. “I don’t want to spoil it.”

A 6-9 center and one of the top players in the 2014 class, Okonoboh is being pursued by any program that matters in college basketball. He also played the Tilton (N.H.) School with Noel previously.

Okonoboh has the tools to get there, definitely. And with the pedigree — playing with Noel previously and also playing at Wilbraham and Monson Academy next season.

He’s ranked in the Top 50 nationally by various scouting services.

But you’ve gotta admit Goodluck is a awesome first name.

Cool name. But how many high schools has this guy played at? What ever happened to playing for your local schools team? And we wonder why NBA players have no allegiances to their teams.
