Purdue’s sophomore starting point guard Ronnie Johnson will be transferring out of the program, the school announced on Saturday afternoon.

Johnson averaged 10.8 points and 3.7 assists this season.

“Ronnie has expressed his interest in transferring from our program and we have granted him his release,” head coach Matt Painter said. “We wish Ronnie the best of luck as he continues to pursue his education and basketball career.”

Purdue was just 15-17 this season and finished in last place in the Big Ten. They will not play in the postseason this year and went to the CBI last season. Johnson’s brother Terone was a senior on the Boilermakers this year.
