Wisconsin releases video of players receiving Final Four rings [VIDEO]

Aug 1, 2014, 10:09 AM EDT

A couple days ago we posted photos of the rings the Wisconsin basketball team received after reaching the Final Four last season. Today we offer the video of the occasion, with head coach Bo Ryan giving s short speech before the players learn of the reward.

“You have to understand that in order to get anything, you have to put something into it,” Ryan told his players. “I don’t know how you felt about last year, whether we put enough in or not. Personally I don’t think we did. For some reason the university felt you did, so they got you rings.”

The Badgers, who finished last season with a 30-8 record (10-6 Big Ten), have been pegged by many as the clear favorite to win the Big Ten in 2014-15. With forward Sam Dekker and center Frank Kaminsky leading the way for a rotation that returns everyone with the exception of guard Ben Brust, the Badger faithful is hoping for another trip to the Final Four (with a more satisfactory conclusion).

I guess you can’t get knocked out in the first or second game every year. Every blind squirrel finds a nut once in awhile.

    Losers… On Wesconsen!
