Lexus Williams had a promising freshman season at Valparaiso, averaging 6.5 points and 2.3 assists while starting 23 games for the Crusaders.
With leading scorer Lavonte Dority, the potential was there for Williams to play a much bigger role in Bryce Drew’s back court as a sophomore, but that will likely have to wait a year as Williams tore his ACL earlier this month, according to a report from Paul Oren of the Northwest Indiana Times.
Surgery is scheduled for Friday.
Valpo has a couple options to replace Williams at the point. Saint Louis transfer Keith Carter averaged 5.7 points and 2.3 assists after joining the team mid-season, while Max Joseph and Tevonn Walker were both listed as point guards prior to arriving at Valpo.
