Following an arrest in August, Bradley senior forward Auston Barnes was charged with misdemeanor domestic battery on Friday in connection with the incident.

According to the Peoria Journal-Star, the 22-year-old Barnes is scheduled for a court appearance on Wednesday, Sept. 24 for his initial appearance on the charge.

Barnes allegedly hit a woman at his home in the early morning hours of Aug. 11. The police report filed at the time of arrest indicated that Barnes used his hands to “grab, pull, knock down” the woman, who was reported to be a recent Bradley graduate.

The woman was treated at a nearby hospital after injuring her right elbow.

Barnes is free on bond pending his initial court appearance next week.

The long senior on the Bradley roster, the 6-foot-8 Barnes averaged 8.6 points and 5.6 boards for the Braves last season.
