Having already landed three forwards in the Class of 2015, the Dayton Flyers added a fourth commitment Monday morning in the form of a three-star point guard from Baltimore, Maryland.

6-foot-2 John Crosby, who’s attending New Hampton Prep this season, verbally committed to Archie Miller’s program following a visit to the school according to multiple outlets. Crosby, who attended Polytechnic HS in Baltimore last year, made the decision to reclassify to 2015 during the spring. He did have some options in 2014, visiting Maryland in August with there being the possibility of his joining Mark Turgeon’s program, but Crosby ultimately decided to stick with his decision to reclassify.

Crosby joins forwards Sam Miller, Ryan Mikesell and Xeyrius Williams in Dayton’s 2015 recruiting haul to date.

Crosby’s commitment gives Dayton additional depth on the perimeter, and as evidenced by their run to the Elite Eight last season the Flyers have no problem giving multiple players the opportunity to earn minutes. Dayton returns sophomores Dayshon “Scoochie” Smith (who’s expected to lead the way from the point) and Kyle Davis, and they also added freshman Darrell Davis to the program.

Senior guard Jordan Sibert, who averaged 12.2 points per game last season, will be out of eligibility when Crosby joins the program next year.
