Report: Texas A&M gets a transfer eligible

Jalen Jones

smumustangs.com

Texas A&M received a ruling on SMU transfer Jalen Jones on Tuesday and the athletic scoring wing will be eligible to play this season.

According to a report from ESPN‘s Jeff Goodman, Jones will have to sit out the first four games of the 2015-16 season due to playing in two closed scrimmages during his time at SMU.

Jones sat out last season and was a star on Texas A&M’s scout team, but now he’ll be relied on to score, as the 6-foot-7 swingman averaged 14 points and 7.7 rebounds in 32-plus minutes per game during the 2012-13 season with SMU.

It’s good news for Billy Kennedy’s ballclub to get a talented wing like Jones on the floor this season and he could be one of the team’s most important players.
