Kansas State lost some front court depth on Monday as the school announced in a release that redshirt freshman Jack Karapetyan is transferring.

The 6-foot-7 Karapetyan played in six games last year before injuring his foot and missing the rest of the season.

“Jack has decided he wants to transfer from K-State,” Weber said in the release. “We appreciate his contributions and wish him the best in the future as he continues his college basketball career.”

Karapetyan received a medical hardship waiver for the 2013-14 season in June and will have the full allotment of five years to complete his eligibility. The transfer will take place at the end of the Fall semester.

With Kansas State returning starters Thomas Gipson, Nino Williams and Wesley Iwundu, the Wildcats have a lot of experience returning this season.

Weber also added junior college forward Stephen Hurt and high school forward Malek Harris in this recruiting class and that should provide some additional depth.
