Wyoming received some great news on Tuesday as head coach Larry Shyatt announced on Twitter that senior forward Larry Nance, Jr. has been cleared to play. Nance also took to Twitter to deliver the news while Wyoming assistant coach Jeremy Shyatt also chimed in on Nance’s return.

Nance tore the ACL in his right knee on Feb 18. and missed the final seven games for the Cowboys last season after averaging 15.4 points and 8.6 rebounds per game. Still, Nance was a first-team All-Mountain West selection in 2013-14 and also a member of the league’s All-Defensive team despite missing the final month of the season.

The 6-foot-8 Nance has been named the Mountain West’s Preseason Player of the Year this year amid high expectations after his return. Wyoming also has high hopes of their own as a team, as they return four starters, including an experienced backcourt in senior guard Riley Grabau, junior guard Josh Adams.

With Nance in the lineup, Wyoming was 17-9 last season before going 1-6 down the stretch without him. Adding Nance for the full season gives the Cowboys high aspirations for this season and they should contend for a postseason spot.
