With the Big East undergoing drastic changes two years ago, one question many fans had was which matchups would be rekindled as non-conference affairs in the future. Friday afternoon another home-and-home series was revealed, with UConn and Georgetown coming to an agreement to play games during the 2015-16 and 2016-17 seasons.

UConn will host the first game on January 23, 2016, with Georgetown hosting the return date January 21, 2017. While the Georgetown release states that the first game will be played at the XL Center in Hartford, UConn’s release does not have a venue designated. UConn annually splits its home games between the XL Center and Gampel Pavilion on campus.

Georgetown leads the all-time series 35-29, and they’ve won the last two meetings. Their most notable meeting came in the 1996 Big East tournament final, with Ray Allen’s shot with 13.8 seconds remaining giving the Huskies a 75-74 win over the Allen Iverson-led Hoyas.
