Markis McDuffie commits to Wichita State

Markis McDuffie

Under Armour

St. Anthony High (New Jersey) senior wing Marks McDuffie verbally committed to Wichita State on Sunday morning, he announced via his personal Twitter account.

“I’m very blessed, excited and happy to announce that I’ve commited to Witchita State University, home of the Shocker,” he tweeted.

McDuffie, the 6-foot-7 small forward who plays for Hall of Fame coach Bob Hurley, becomes the fourth commit for Gregg Marshall. The three-star prospect joins point guard Tyrone Taylor, power forward Eric Hamilton and shooting guard Landry Shamet, a top 100 player, according to Rivals.

Boston College, SMU and VCU were all in the mix before McDuffie decided to pledge to Wichita State. He took official visits to BC, VCU and Wichita State in September while hosting Larry Brown for an in-home visit, as well.

During the summer, McDuffie averaged 12.5 points, 5.2 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.4 steals per game for Sports U in the Under Armour Association.
