Florida lost some backcourt depth over the weekend as the school announced that redshirt sophomore guard Dillon Graham intends to transfer at the end of the semester.

“I want to thank my teammates, coaches and everyone else at UF for a great experience during my time here. Even though I am moving on to the next chapter in my life and my basketball career, I will always have positive memories from my years with the Gators,” Graham said in a statement.

The 6-foot-4 Graham played sparingly during his time at Florida and only managed three minutes of action during the Gators’ season-opening win on Friday night. After playing in the season opener in 2013-14, Graham sat out the season with bone spurs in his hips. During his freshman season, Graham played in 23 minutes for the Gators, registering 81 total minutes and scoring 11 points.

Regarded as a three-star prospect out of high school, Graham had a great July live evaluation period prior to his senior season and opted to pick the Gators over other in-state programs like Central Florida and Florida State with some additional interest from Kansas.

This isn’t a major loss for Florida going forward, especially since Eli Carter appears to be healthy heading into this season, but it does leave the Gators with only seven scholarship players going into Monday night’s non-conference clash against Miami since forward Chris Walker is sitting out due to suspension and Alex Murphy is sitting out 10 games after transferring in at mid-season last year.
