Texas A&M receives good news regarding transfer guard

Danuel House

Less than a week after former teammate TaShawn Thomas (now at Oklahoma) was granted immediate eligibility by the NCAA, Texas A&M junior guard Danuel House received the good news himself. According to reports from Aubrey Bloom of the Bryan-College Station Eagle and Logan Lee of TexAgs.com, the NCAA has granted House’s request for a waiver that makes him eligible to compete immediately.

Also of note regarding House is that he did not travel with the team to Puerto Rico, where the Aggies are participating in the Puerto Rico Tipoff. Will he be flown down to join the team in time for their game Sunday against either George Mason or New Mexico? According to multiple reports, that will occur.

To say the least this is a big addition for Texas A&M, as they can certainly use another perimeter scorer. Alex Caruso is a preseason second team All-SEC selection and SMU transfer Jalen Jones currently averages 12.0 ppg, but the Aggies have a shortage of perimeter players who can make things happen off the dribble. House, who averaged 13.6 points and 5.3 rebounds per game at Houston last season, can help them in that area.
