No. 6 Louisville beat down Savannah State on Monday night.

It was bad.

Louisville scored 29 points before Savannah State got on the board and eventually won by 61 points.

And if you listen to Pitino after the game, he clearly felt bad about embarrassing an opponent.

“It was just one of those unfortunate things for them,” he said afterwards, continuing to elaborate on how bad he felt about the beatdown.

“This will be the first time since I’ve been at Louisville that I will not watch the game film,” Pitino said. “You get nothing out of this. You feel bad for the other team.”

But that’s not what’s getting the pub on Tuesday. This line is:

“I don’t like to see any team struggle like that,” Pitino said. “I really don’t. We tried everything. I played four white guys and Egyptian.”
