San Diego State guard undergoes surgery to repair broken bone in left hand

San Diego State will be down a man in the back court for some time, as senior guard Aqeel Quinn underwent surgery on Monday morning after breaking a bone in his left hand, according to Mark Zeigler of San Diego Union-Tribune.

Aqeel Quinn broke bone in left hand. Surgery was this am. No official timetable but these things generally take at least a month to heal.

Following the procedure, Quinn sent this message via his personal Instagram account: “Minor Setback...First surgery ever! Love all my family for checking in on me! #iWillBeBack”

The 6-foot-3 Quinn is averaging 9.7 points and 3.2 rebounds per game for No. 13 San Diego State. During the Maui Invitational, he went for 22 points against BYU in a 92-87 double overtime win for the Aztecs.

San Diego State hosts San Diego on Thursday night.
