Pregame Shootaround: Wisconsin heads to Cal in the best game of the night

Game of the Night: No. 6 Wisconsin at Cal, 9:00 p.m.

The Badgers will get their toughest test since taking on Duke earlier this season when they head to Berkeley to play Cal. The Bears are 11-1 on the season, but they are also fairly untested. How will their perimeter-oriented attack handle Wisconsin’s size inside? Also worth noting: Ty Wallace is the best player in the country you’ve never heard of.

Who’s Getting Upset?: Long Beach State at No. 17 St. John’s, 7:30 p.m.

St. John’s has made a habit this season of digging themselves a hole and scrapping back out of it, and while LBSU probably isn’t quite as good as Saint Mary’s or Minnesota, they already own a win over Kansas State this season. The Johnnies better come to play.

Mid-Major Matchup of the Night: UC Irvine vs. Green Bay, 5:00 p.m. (Las Vegas)

UC Irvine has 7-foot-6 center Mamadou Ndiaye, an NBA prospect, on their roster. Green Bay has 5-foot-10 Keifer Sykes, another NBA prospect, on their roster.

Five Things to Watch For:

1. No. 10 Kansas at Temple, 7:00 p.m.: The Jayhawks will get tested on the road by the Owls, a team that just added two wing scorers in Jesse Morgan and Devin Coleman. Kelly Oubre had 23 points and 10 boards his last time out for Kansas.

2. Wofford at No. 18 West Virginia, 7:30 p.m.: Wofford won at N.C. State earlier this year, and they have the kind of veteran guards that won’t get rattled by West Virginia’s pressure.

3. Charleston Southern at No. 24 Colorado State, 8:00 p.m.: Colorado State has been really good to start this season, but Charleston Southern is a good mid-major team with some talented guards.

4. William & Mary at Old Dominion, 7:00 p.m.: The two best mid-major programs in Virginia square off. Old Dominion might be the class of Conference USA, while William & Mary is as good as anyone in the CAA.

5. The Citadel at Michigan State, 6:00 p.m.: The Spartans look to bounce back from a disappointing loss to Texas Southern over the weekend.
