Wake Forest will be down a man on the frontline when it begins ACC play, as junior forward Aaron Rountree III has been ruled out 4-6 weeks after breaking a bone in his right hand during a 60-53 win over Bucknell on Tuesday.

Wake Forest head coach Danny Manning confirmed the injury to Dan Collins of the Winston Salem-Journal on Friday night.

The Demon Deacons will likely be down to nine scholarship players for Sunday’s non-conference matchup at Richmond. From the Winston Salem-Journal:

He will be the sixth Wake Forest player to miss games this season because of injuries, suspensions or defections. Senior forward Daniel Green has yet to play this season while recovering from two knee surgeries. Sophomore Miles Overton left the program after telling Manning earlier this month he plans to transfer from Wake Forest. And freshman Mitchell Wilbekin will miss one more game as part of a three-game suspension by the NCAA.

Freshmen Cornelius Hudson and Rondale Watson have returned from a one-game suspension by Wake Forest for conduct detrimental to the team.

Rountree is averaging 3.3 points, 2.9 boards and 1.0 blocks per game. He was coming off a game where he blocked three of nine shots for Wake Forest, a team high this season.
