GAME OF THE NIGHT: No. 16 VCU 63, Saint Louis 61

With the score tied 61-61, the Rams put the ball in the hands of Treveon Graham with eight seconds remaining, as “Freight Train” went the length of the floor, finishing through contact for the game-winner with 0.8 seconds left. The Billikens never got a look at the basket. Graham finished with 21 points and six boards while freshman forward led Saint Louis with a team-high 15.

The Rams and Billikens entered halftime tied at 34-all. For the second half, the largest lead with six, with VCU leading 56-50 for a less than a 30 seconds span. In all the two teams swapped the lead 10 times and were tied 11 times on the evening.

VCU sits atop the A10 standings at 6-0, winners of 11 straight.

IMPORTANT OUTCOMES

Green Bay 51, Valparaiso 50

With 30 seconds left and Green Bay clinging to a one-point lead, the Phoenix left the door open for Valpo twice, however, the Crusaders could not capitalize on either possession. Keifer Sykes was 4-of-17 for 11 points, but Green Bay found a way to grind out this win, limiting Valpo to 34 percent shooting and 2-of-10 from three.

With Cleveland State winning as well, Green Bay shares the top spot in the Horizon League. The Phoenix travel to Cleveland State next Saturday with first-place on the line.

STARRED

Ousmane Drame, Quinnipiac: For the 14th time -- sixth straight -- the senior forward posted a double-double with 12 points and a season-high 19 boards in a win over Manhattan.

Trey Lewis, Cleveland State: The 6-foot-2 guard was two points off his career-high with 30 points and eight rebounds in a 70-66 win over Detroit.

Treveon Graham, VCU: The preseason player of the year in the Atlantic 10 went for 21 points, including the game-winner.

STRUGGLED

Shane Richards, Manhattan: The Jaspers’ sharpshooter had an off night, going 0-for-11 (0-for-8 from three) for no points in a loss to Quinnipiac.

Marist: The Red Foxes have now lost 14 straight following a 69-60 loss to Siena. The two began the second half tied at 28-28, but Marist went almost eight minutes with just a single field goal. In that time, the Saints opened up a double-digit lead. Marist is still looking for its first MAAC win.
