A massive snowstorm will spend the next two days burying the Northeast under as much as two feet of snow and the impending winter mess is beginning to postpone upcoming college hoops games. As of now, it is still unclear whether or not Louisville will be able to get to Boston for their game against Boston College on Wednesday night. Seton Hall will play at Marquette on Wednesday as scheduled as they never returned to New Jersey after their game at Butler over the weekend.

DePaul at Providence moved from Tuesday to Thursday

According to Kevin McNamara of the Providence Journal, Tuesday night’s game between DePaul and Providence will be postponed and rescheduled.

On Sunday night, Providence sent out a release saying the storm had prompted discussions between Fox, who will be broadcasting the game, and the two universities about changing the date.

“Due to the impending major snowstorm, which is predicted to hit Rhode Island on Monday night and Tuesday, Providence College is working with the Big East Conference, Fox Sports 1, DePaul Athletics, the State of Rhode Island and the Dunkin’ Donuts Center on the potential rescheduling of the men’s basketball game versus DePaul,” the release said.

“The safety of our fans, staff and student-athletes is of the utmost importance. We hope to have a final decision on the date and the time of the game by Monday. When we have more information on the status of the game we will send an email to all season ticket holders and fans who have purchased tickets to this game.”

School officials at DePaul told NBCSports.com that the Big East contest will be played at 2 p.m. EST on Thursday.

Michigan State will reschedule Tuesday night game with Rutgers

According to a release from Michigan State, the Spartans’ Tuesday-night Big Ten game at Rutgers will be rescheduled.

Multiple reports state that this game has been rescheduled for Thursday night at 6 p.m. This game will give the Scarlet Knights some more time to get healthy as guard Bishop Daniels was questionable for Tuesday’s game with strained hip flexor, according to Jerry Carino of the Ashbury Park Press.
