On Thursday afternoon, adidas unveiled what it is calling the Heritage Classic uniforms, throwback jerseys honoring the 1988 national championship team led by Danny Manning, who is currently the Wake Forest head coach.

Featuring the best of the past and present, the new uniform is made with the same lightweight Revolution 30 technology used in the NBA, and showcases throwback letters, numbering and logos inspired by the 1988 uniform.

A special callout on the jersey’s back collar, “NCAA CHAMPS 1988,” further commemorates the Jayhawks’ champion history. Fans should note that the signature finishing touch adorning the collar is only on the student-athlete’s game jerseys to remind the wearer of the heritage of the program as they don them.

Kansas will wear these throwbacks on Feb. 28 against rival Texas.
