After struggling in non-conference play, Jerod Haase’s UAB Blazers have played much better basketball in Conference USA play. UAB moved to 8-2 in conference play Thursday night with an 80-60 win over Louisiana Tech, with Nick Norton leading five double-figure scorers with 16 points and Hakeem Baxter posting a double-double with 15 points and ten rebounds.

UAB shot nearly 47 percent from the field while limiting the visiting Bulldogs to 33.8% shooting, with Louisiana Tech’s second-leading scorer Alex Hamilton scoring just nine points on 3-for-12 shooting. The highlight of the night for UAB was provided by forward William Lee, who finished the game with six points, three rebounds and two blocks.

After receiving the pass from Robert Brown just inside of half court, Lee took just one dribble before jumping from the Conference USA logo inside of the foul line. Louisiana Tech’s Merrill Holden made an attempt to challenge the dunk, but he didn’t stand much of a chance against Lee here.
