Four days after dropping a game at George Mason that went to overtime, Chris Mooney’s Richmond Spiders were able to bounce back with a 71-56 win at St. Bonaventure. ShawnDre’ Jones scored 17 points off the bench to lead five players in double figures for Richmond, which shot 50 percent from the field and forced St. Bonaventure 19 turnovers.

With the goal of picking up a road win accomplished, Richmond’s ride from the arena to the airport ended up being more eventful than they anticipated. What happened? The bus driver missed the turn they needed to make in order to get to the airport, and then the bus got stuck in a snowdrift when he attempted to turn around.

The good news? Richmond had some fun with the situation via its Twitter account, which included some of them watching the thriller between No. 4 Duke and No. 15 North Carolina.

There would be some false hope, as they believed that the wrecker that was supposed to get them out of the snowdrift was on its way.

There was an attempt to shift their weight on the bus, but that didn’t work either. With that the attention of the passengers returned to the North Carolina/Duke game, and once that was decided there was a simple request:

And finally, the tow truck arrived.

And with the process of getting out of the snowbank complete, the next question was whether or not their plane would still be at the airport (it was). Even with teams doing everything they can to thoroughly plan out their travel, complications can arise. Yet even with that being the case, Richmond found a way to have some fun with the situation.
