IMPORTANT OUTCOMES

1. Texas 61, No. 14 Baylor 59, OT

In a nearly must-win scenario for the Longhorns at home, they could never gain the upper hand on the Bears until overtime. But they finally outlasted Baylor as Isaiah Taylor’s floater with 4.8 seconds left gave the Longhorns the huge win. Now Texas can get closer to being in the current NCAA Tournament picture and they hosted Kansas State to close out the regular season.

2. No. 17 Iowa State 77, No. 15 Oklahoma 70

The Cyclones stormed back for a little Hilton Magic in the second half as a 17-0 run in a little over 3 minutes got Iowa State back into the game after Oklahoma led by double-digits much of the game. The Sooners led 37-18 at the half and looked like they had an easy win until Iowa State’s offense started clicking. Junior forward Georges Niang had 23 points, eight rebounds and four assists to lead the Cyclones while Monte Morris had 19 points and five assists.

3. No. 2 Virginia 59, Syracuse 47

The Cavaliers started the first 12 minutes of this one about as cold as can be, but their defense held strong as they stormed back and picked up an ACC road win over the Orange. Despite 20 turnovers on the offensive end, Virginia owned the glass, winning 41-20 there as Anthony Gill finished with 17 points and eight rebounds. Trevor Cooney led the Orange with 14 points. It also marked the final Syracuse home game for senior center Rakeem Christmas, who finished with 10 points.
