Georgetown senior Tyler Adams hasn’t been an official member of the basketball team since a heart ailment forced him to cut his career short after only four games during his freshman season.

But Hoyas head coach John Thompson III made a classy gesture this week when he told the former four-star recruit that he would give Adams the start on Senior Day. Even though Adams couldn’t play at Georgetown, he’s stayed apart of the program these last four years, doing whatever he can to help.

The NCAA granted a waiver that allowed Adams to appear “briefly” in Saturday’s Big East game against Seton Hall and Adams opened the game with a dunk after getting the start.

Overall, a really cool moment for a talented player who never had a chance to fulfill many of his college basketball dreams. At least now Adams can say that he started -- and scored -- on Senior Day.
