No. 1 Kentucky completes a perfect regular season

Kentucky became the first power conference team since Indiana and Robert Montgomery Knight in 1975-76 to go undefeated throughout the regular season, knocking off Florida in Rupp Arena on Saturday afternoon, 67-50.

It’s the second time in program history the Wildcats have gone throughout the regular reason without a loss; they did it in 1953-54 as well.

“I’m really proud of this team,” Cal said in the postgame interview on CBS. “They were worried about winning every game, but this team is resilient. The good news is, we’ve got enough guys, we have enough room to try and figure it out.”

Karl Towns led the way for the Wildcats, finishing with 13 point,s nine boards and six blocks, while Trey Lyles finished with 14 points.

Kentucky now officially enters the postseason undefeated. They have three games in the SEC tournament and six games in the NCAA tournament now standing between them and a 40-0 season.
