Gonzaga will need to account for the loss of some key perimeter contributors as they prepare for the 2015-16 season, with Kevin Pangos, Gary Bell Jr. and Byron Wesley all out of eligibility. What helps head coach Mark Few is that his three best big men all have eligibility remaining, and on Saturday it was reported by ESPN.com that Domantas Sabonis will be back for his sophomore season.
Sabonis started just one game for the Bulldogs but was a highly productive reserve, averaging 9.7 points and a team-best 7.1 rebounds per contest. With Kyle Wiltjer and Przemek Karnowski both expected to return as well, the three big men will be asked to lead the way for the Bulldogs next season.
Gonzaga will be young on the perimeter, with Eric McClellan and Kyle Dranginis being their most experienced guards. Silas Melson and Josh Perkins, who redshirted this season after suffering a broken jaw in November, will be back next season and they’ll also have Bryan Alberts available after he redshirted this season.
